(Some info from liftnow.com)

Brake Machine also know as a Brake Lathe is a special machine used to fix noise and vibration issues in a vehicle’s brakes.

It uses an electric motor to turn the rotors. It corrects the thickness of the rotor, helping restore its function and extend the life span of the brake system.

Rotor noise and vibration issues commonly arise from heavy brake use.

This machine show here in our museum is a disk brake one that was used by a local mechanic in Gundagai for many years

Over the years there was many makes and models, also a Drum Brack Lathe version too.

These days many mechanics still have on but many are Duel, can do both Drum and Disk.

Also a Disk Brake version that is a On Vehicle use version.

BUT.

Now days many vehicle makers have made the disk brake to only last till the brake pad is worn and so this means you have to replace it the same time as the pads too.
